I'll be holding a special concert in December dedicated to you. However, I need your help...I'd like to ask you to help me shape this show by letting me know exactly what you'd like me to sing! Anybody who’s been here before knows that I have a huge crush on Lea Salonga since way back and you can certainly label me as a certified fanatic of the singer- actress. Ha-ha. Yes, folks all you have to do is search my archives here and you’ll know what I mean. And I do travel near and far just to watch her perform, too. So, indulge me once again as I share with you this snippet of her performance at the taping of The Sharon Cuneta Show which ABS- CBN will air on Sunday, May 18, 2008. Despite having to run almost two miles from the other end of the Terminal to catch the Northwest Airline Flight from Detroit- Metropolitan Wayne County Airport to La Guardia having missed our original morning flight earlier, we were still in a very good mood. And flying all the way from Michigan 2 days before the event and then “hitching” a ride from the Bronx to Tarrytown, New York on the day of the concert with old friends in tow in exchange for the promised prime concert seats, we were in cruise control. The uneventful 30- minute trip on the slow, lazy road to this little picturesque village on the eastern shore of the Hudson river did not dampen our enthusiasm a bit. We arrived at historic Tarrytown at quarter past seven of a cool and chilly evening of November 2. We were in high spirits in anticipation of a wonderful evening of music at the Tarrytown Music Hall. Yes, we traveled far for the much- awaited concert of Broadway Star and Tony- Award Winner Lea Salonga in this side...

Yesterday Lea Salonga performed in the 21st Stars in the Alley an annual free concert by Broadway’s biggest stars in the historic Shubert Alley . She sang I Dreamed a Dream and despite the wind (for unknown reasons it's always windy in there or at least during the time that I was there), noise, bad audio and distractions gave the audience an “earful” of what Fantine should really sound which is a lot better than her predecessor in the current revival of Les Miserables . Daphne Rubin- Vega's... "My Right Shoe and Shubert Alley" The Alley on W. 44th St and W. 45th St. at Seventh Avenue is the place where aspiring actors congregate hoping for a chance to land a part in theater baron Sam S. Here's Lea Salonga as the spoken voice of Mrs. Yasuko Kusakabe in the star- studded Disney version of Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro that was released last March 7, 2006. I took these footage clips of Lea Salonga signing autographs after her Les Miserables performance outside the Broadhurst Theater . It was way, way past 11 in the evening and yet a lot of her fans waited for her to emerge from the backstage door just to catch a glimpse of her, have her autograph and have their pictures taken with her to cap their wonderful evening and complete their Lea’s Miz Memories. There were a lot of Filipinos in the audience and Lea was mobbed by the crowd wherein majority of them were Pinay nurses. Cameron Mackintosh should thank Lea Salonga for helping the show draw more crowds from the Filipino community who usually come in droves night in and night out. Yes folks, Lea Salonga’s back in Broadway where she is essaying the role of the tragic character Fantine in the theatrical adaptation of Victor Hugo’s Classic Novel Les Miserables at the Broadhurst Theater . The Tony Award - winning musical created by the two collaborating geniuses Alain Boublil and Claude- Michel Schonberg , with English lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and produced by Cameron Mackintosh is a heart-wrenching and thought- provoking musical that would melt even the hardest soul among us. Les Miserables set in the 1800s in volatile France tells the stories of Jean Valjean an escaped convict and his struggles to start a new life while being relentlessly pursued by an obsessed Police Inspector Javert . By the way, talk about injustice, like Nelson Mandela , Valjean was wrongly convicted for stealing a mere loaf of bread and served 19 years of his life for it!
